Release Notes: February 2025
Greetings, We’re excited to share the latest updates for February 2025! Here's a summary of the new features and improvements..
WhatsApp Pay Node - Reference ID Field
Businesses required a way to track WhatsApp payment transactions efficiently. This feature introduces a system-generated or custom reference ID to enhance tracking and reconciliation.
- Built for: Businesses using WhatsApp payments
- Impact: Customers can now use Reference IDs in workflows, external systems, or within the WhatsApp Payment node for better tracking.
WhatsApp Pay Node - New Payment Methods
WhatsApp has introduced a new Payment Method configuration in Cloud API, allowing businesses to control available payment options like UPI, Card, Wallet, or Net Banking.
- Built for: Businesses using WhatsApp Payments.
- Impact: Provides more control over available payment methods, enhancing customer convenience.
Increasing TTL for [chat.url] to 7 Days
The previous TTL (Time to Live) for chat.url, chat.file, and chat.text was only 2 hours, limiting access to past conversations. This update extends the TTL to 7 days.
- Built for: Businesses needing extended chat history.
- Impact: Agents and sales teams can now access past interactions for audits and customer support.
File Upload Node - Responses for Direct Uploads
Previously, failed Direct Uploads in the File Upload Node lacked visible error messages, making troubleshooting difficult. Now, a response section is available for easier debugging.
- Built for: Customers using Direct Upload in File Upload Node.
- Impact: Improves troubleshooting and reduces time spent identifying issues.
LeadSquared - WhatsApp Connector
Customers using LeadSquared needed an integrated way to send WhatsApp messages, automate campaigns, and track conversations. This integration allows businesses to:
- Send WhatsApp messages from LeadSquared
- Track campaigns and broadcast history
- Trigger WhatsApp templates from Engati when state changes occur in LeadSquared
- Built for: Businesses using LeadSquared for marketing and customer engagement
- Impact: Streamlines messaging and improves tracking.
Separator for Trial Plan Assignment
Trial plan assignments lacked a clear separator between older and newer plans, making differentiation difficult. The update improves UI clarity.
- Built for: Direct customers using Platform and e-Commerce offerings
- Impact: Enhances usability and accuracy when assigning trial plans.
SMO: URL and Phone Number Output
Previously, SMO options could only trigger another node. Now, customers can embed URL and phone number options directly in SMO.
- Built for: Customers needing streamlined interaction
- Impact: Enhances chatbot UI with clear indicators for links and phone numbers.
Disclaimer Before Publishing Broadcast
To prevent issues with untested templates, customers must now check a confirmation box before publishing large WhatsApp broadcasts. An automated email notification will also be sent to key stakeholders.
- Built for: Businesses sending WhatsApp broadcasts to over 5,000 users
- Impact: Reduces delivery failures and ensures compliance.
Direct Meta TSP Feature Enhancements
Businesses using Meta TSP directly lacked certain WhatsApp features. This update introduces:
- WA Pay method selection
- Automated workflows via WA Flows
- Real-time webhook status updates
- User creation from messages
- Live chat indicators
- API-based broadcast management
- WA Commerce access
- Built for: Businesses using Meta TSP instead of a BSP
- Impact: Expands capabilities for Meta TSP customers.
Export Broadcast - Config Column
Previously, exported CSV files did not include configured columns, and download behavior was unclear. Now, all columns are included by default, and unnecessary date selections are removed.
- Impact: Simplifies data exports, reducing effort and improving usability.
